Portable Fingerboard

Lightweight 3D-printed climbing fingerboard with wooden grip surfaces, designed to minimize plastic use while supporting training loads.

Design goal

The fingerboard is an exercise in reducing material without turning the result into a fragile demonstration piece. The latest version uses approximately 25 g of PLA and has been tested with approximately 70 kg training loads. A prototype has been used for regular training for around a year without signs of structural fatigue.

The printed structure provides 12 mm and 20 mm edges and allocated slots for wooden inserts. Wood is used at the finger-contact surfaces, while the printed body provides the lightweight supporting geometry.

Model access

The downloadable model and browser-based STL preview remain in the separate STL collection. This record documents the design itself rather than duplicating the model browser.
