Bommari Bouldering Area
Coordination of the November 2023 build and later improvements to a volunteer-built bouldering area on Tampere University's Hervanta campus.
Initial build
The Bommari bouldering area was built in November 2023 in the bomb shelter on Tampere University’s Hervanta campus. The work combined volunteer effort with project coordination and communication between the volunteers, Tekiila, SportUni, Tampere University facility management, and Suomen Yliopistokiinteistöt (SYK).
The construction was funded mainly by SportUni and Teekkareiden Urheilu- ja Voimailukerho ry (TUrVoKe). My role centered on construction management, coordination, and communication rather than sole authorship of every design or building task.
Ongoing improvements
The initial construction was completed in November 2023, but the area has continued to receive smaller improvements as needs and opportunities have arisen.
